Not exactly cross-fit(thank goodness), but in All Out Gym you’ll find a great mix of cardio, core, and weight training. This was my first visit, but I left the cube feeling exhausted, yet somehow full of energy! The workout consists of multiple cycles in which you rotate among things like carrying ridiculously heavy weights back and forth across the gym, using a TRX to do reverse push/pull ups(I’m sure there’s an ‘official’ name for this move, but I don’t know it), squat-lifting kettlebells, throwing a medicine ball against a wall and catching it, weighted lunges, and all kinds of spiffy agility moves involving a ladder on the floor. The music was loud enough to get you energized, but not so loud that you couldn’t hear the instructions from the trainer. The trainer did an excellent job of ensuring that the small group of participants maintained good form and challenged themselves throughout the 60 minute workout. I’ll definitely be adding All Out Gym into my training for the Berlin Marathon… and I’ll be bringing a much bigger towel next time to mop up all my sweat! ;-)
