Grabbed two scoops of salted caramel with krokant and a waffer for € 3.20. Quite tasty. Will finish review after film! Okay film finished… yesterday ;). Back to job in hand. Scene: Sony Centre Potsdamerplatz, Berlin Cast: A hell of a lot of tourists and us! Plot: Find Ice-cream fast, get into cinema before film starts! We arrived at the Sony Centre to check out which films were available. It was packed! Luckily we found a film which was about to start in 20mins, and then my urge for ice-cream struck! I really wanted something tasty and didn’t fancy the idea of queuing up forever for whatever limited offerings they had downstairs. So we outside to see what we could find! And that was when I saw it for the first time… Barletta Eis. A simple looking ice-cream stall beckoning me to come over and try what was on offer. I bolted in its direction; it was looking more and more attractive as I watched the line of customers move along at a favourable rate, mustn’t be late for the film! We joined the queue and before I could even work out the flavours on offer I was already being asked what I wanted. I motioned for my boyfriend to start! He ordered vanilla and chocolate. The Ice-cream only comes in cups(perhaps they ran out of cones that day, not sure), but you get a wafer and a topping of your choice, he went for Smarties. By then I had spotted the salted caramel, my current flavour crush. No doubt about it, two scoops of salted caramel please with krokant! As I was being served I noticed a huge menu which stated each flavour with a list off its ingredients, useful for people with allergies. For the lactose intolerant they also offer gluten free sorbets made from puréed fruits. It cost € 3.20 for two scoops but I guess the prices are a little inflated due to the tourist location. Having said that the ice-cream is jammed into the cup until it is full to the brim. More importantly the ice-cream had a creamy consistency and tasted good. I was quite content as I walked back to the cinema; my taste buds sent happy messages to my brain! The Film was good too, which was a bonus!
